FAQ´s
Our youngest riders are 5 years old and above. We place them in the "Minis” riding group.
Here is where our younger students take their first lessons, generally lead-rein lessons where they learn the basics of horse riding in a safe, confined space. We do lead-rein walk and trot lessons until our young students are confident to ride independently.
Polo is a friction sport, and it is played on horseback, at much faster speeds than a person can run. There is some risk of falling off a horse if riding recklessly, and there is the small chance of a collision with other horses while playing the game.
At Colts we take every precaution to minimize all risks involved, by:
Providing safety training to all students and beginners
Ensuring students wear safety equipment
Ensuring students ride the horse that is appropriate with their experience.
We take the students from basic training to more advance riding training in gradual steps. We ensure safety at every step of their learning journey
Of course! Our school caters for very beginners and experienced riders alike.Horses in our school have been ‘teaching’ children and adults for a number of years now.
We provide the safe environment needed to learn to ride.
Yes, we can give individual lessons. However we prefer group lessons, as we believe students learn a lot more in groups, even if small (2 or 3 people), as they can also learn by looking at others riding. Also, polo is a team sport, and once students are confident in their riding and hitting the ball, we start to have small games that encourage (and actually require) group participation.
You can book and cancel lessons within 24 hours of the lesson. Any lessons cancelled within 24 hours will be charged, unless cancelled due to weather. You can find our full policy in our T&Cs (link to T&Cs)
Yes! On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings our students can book to play fun chukkas to practice the game. These sessions are by sign-up, first come first served basis.
Chukkas are c. 12 minutes long, and are charged on a per-chukka basis.
We only cancel lessons if it raining at the time of the lesson, or if there is lightening alert.
Otherwise our arenas are all-weather, and we can ride after it has rained. Please check our T&Cs for cancellation policy.
